WE'VE
BEEN WORKING ON RECYCLING
(To the tune of "I've
Been Working on the Railroad)
We've been working on recycling
everything we can,
We've been working on recycling,
it's a very simple plan,
Separate your glass and paper,
your plastic and your tin.
Take the trash that you've recycled
to your recycling bin.
We've been working on reducing
everything we can.
We've been working on reducing,
it's a very simple plan.
Don't get things if you won’t use them,
get only what you need.
Don't buy extra things to throw them away,
reduce and you'll succeed.
We've been working on reusing
everything we can.
We've been working on reusing,
it's a very simple plan.
Every bag that you are using,
make sure you use it twice.
When you’re done with things give them away,
reusing is so nice.
REDUCE
REUSE RECYCLE
(To the tune of
"Eensy Weensy Spider")
Reduce Reuse Recycle
Are words that we all know
We have to save our planet
So we can live and grow
We might be only children
We have to try, you’ll see
We will save our planet
It starts with you and me!
RECYCLE
(To the tune of
"Twinkle Twinkle Little Star")
Recycle everything you use
Make sure you separate things too
Glass and paper,
Plastic, tin
Go in your Recycle Bin
We must start,
We just can’t wait
To save our Planet
Earth is Great!!
TRASH
IS BLOWING ALL AROUND
(To the tune of
"London
Bridge")
Trash is blowing all around,
All around, all around,
Trash is blowing all around
All around the town.
Let's get busy and pick it up,
Pick it up, pick it up.
Let's get busy and pick it up,
All around the town.
Get a trash bag and put it in,
Put it in, put it in.
Get a trash bag and put it in,
All around the town.
EARTH
DAY SONG
((To the tune of
"When You’re
Happy and You Know It")
If you recycle every day, clap
your hands (clap, clap)
If you recycle every day, clap your hands (clap, clap)
If you recycle every day
Then we’ll save the Earth --
HOORAY!!
If you recycle every day, clap
your hands! (clap, clap)
If you reduce how much you use, stomp your feet (stomp, stomp)
If you reduce how much you use, stomp your feet (stomp, stomp )
If you reduce how much you use
Then we’ll save the Earth –
WOOHOO!!
If you reduce how much you use,
stomp your feet (stomp, stomp )
If you reuse all that you can,
jump in place (jump jump)
If you reuse all that you can, jump in place (jump jump)
If you reuse all that you can
Then we’ll save the Earth –
KAZAM!!
If you reuse all that you can,
jump in place(jump jump)
If you really love the Earth, do
all three
If you really love the Earth, do
all three
If you really love the Earth,
Then let’s save the Earth –
YIPEE!!
If you really love the Earth, do
all three
HEALTHY

(To the tune of
"This Old
Man")

I Love Fruit
How About You?
Veggies Red and Green and Blue

And So Crunchy too
Healthy Foods Are Super Cool!
RAIN
DANCE
(To the tune of
"The Itsy Bitsy Spider")
Put up your umbrella
When the rain comes down.
Wear a happy smile
And wipe away a frown.
Splash in all the puddles
And do a little dance.
Rain is just the thing we need
For all the new spring plants.
I’M
A LITTLE SEED
(To the tune of
"I'm A
Little Teapot")
I’m a little seed down in the ground.
Out comes the yellow sun, big and round.
Down comes the cool rain, soft and slow.
So up I sprout to grow, grow, grow!
FLOWER
GARDEN
(To the tune of
"The
Farmer In The Dell")
The farmer plants the seeds
The Farmer plants the seeds
See how the Garden Grows
The farmer plants the seeds.
(Use the following verses.)
The sun begins to shine
The rain begins to fall
The plants begin to grow
The flowers smile at us
A
HUNK OF MUD
(To the tune of
"If you're happy and you know it")
Oh I wish I was a little hunk of
mud
Oh I wish I was a little hunk of mud
I’d be ooey ooey gooey
Over everybody's shoey
Oh I wish I was a little hunk of mud!
PARTS
OF THE PLANTS
(To the tune of
"London Bridges")
Do you know the parts of plants?
Parts of plants?
Parts of plants?
Do you know the parts of plants?
The plants that grow and grow?
Roots that hold the plant in
place,
Plant in place
Plant in place
Roots that hold the plant in
place
Sip up water too!
Stems move water up the plant
up the plant
up the plant
Stems move water up the plant
Bring water to the leaves.
Leaves make food right from the
sun,
From the sun
From the sun
Leaves make food right from the
sun.
To help the flower grow!
Flowers turn to yummy fruit
Yummy fruit
Yummy fruit
Flowers turn to yummy fruit
Inside the fruit are seeds!
LITTLE
DAFFODILS
(Start with a closed hand, Lift one finger
at a time for each Daffodil)
One little daffodil with nothing much to do,
Out popped another one – then there were two.
Two little daffodils smiling at a bee,
Out popped another one – then there were three.
Three little daffodils growing by the door,
Out popped another one – then there were four.
Four little daffodils glad to be alive,
Out popped another one – then there were five.
Five little daffodils wearing golden crowns,
Dancing in the breeze in their green satin gowns.
WE
NEED WORMS
(Mary Had a Little
Lamb)
We need worms to mix the soil,
Mix the soil, mix the soil.
We need worms to mix the soil
So we can plant our seeds.
When the soil is all mixed,
All mixed up, all mixed up.
When the soil is all mixed up,
Our seeds will grow, you’ll see!
WHAT
DO WE PLANT?
by Henry Abbey (1842-1911)
What do we plant when we plant
the tree?
We plant the ship, which will cross the sea.
We plant the mast to carry the sails;
We plant the planks to withstand the gales --
The keel, the keelson, and the beam and knee;
We plant the ship when we plant the tree.
What do we plant when we plant
the tree?
We plant the houses for you and me.
We plant the rafters, the shingles, the floors.
We plant the studding, the lath, the doors,
The beams, and siding, all parts that be;
We plant the house when we plant the tree.
What do we plant when we plant
the tree?
A thousand things that we daily see;
We plant the spire that out-towers the crag,
We plant the staff for our country's flag,
We plant the shade, from the hot sun free;
We plant all these when we plant the tree.
TREES
by Harry Behn
Trees are the kindest things I
know,
They do no harm, they simply grow
And spread a shade for sleepy cows,
And gather birds among their bows.
They give us fruit in leaves
above,
And wood to make our houses of,
And leaves to burn on Halloween
And in the Spring new buds of green.
They are first when day's begun
To tough the beams of morning sun,
They are the last to hold the light
When evening changes into night.
And when a moon floats on the sky
They hum a drowsy lullaby
Of sleepy children long ago...
Trees are the kindest things I know.
