Spanish Language Update

Hello everybody,

This year I have the privilege of working with your children teaching them Spanish. I welcome all of children back for another year at TLVS, and for those children starting the school year for the first time, I look forward to getting to work and play with your children. This will be my third year working at TLVS, and each year is better then the last. I love children and I love teaching languages, so it really has been an unmitigated pleasure and honor for me. Last year, I taught the children German and it was an incredible experience. The children learned simple colloquial phrases, colors, and nursery songs. My background is quiet interesting. My father is a native German and my mother is a native Latin-American, born in Honduras. I had the privilege of growing up in a bilingual household and was exposed to two very different cultures and languages. In addition, I took four years of Spanish and hope to continue teaching languages in my career. Currently, we are starting the year by slowly learning colors and simple phrases in Spanish. We are also working on Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Throughout the year, and as the children become more familiar with the songs, I will be bringing in my guitar to accompany the nursery songs. I look forward to working with your children and thank you for allowing me to teach your precious little ones!.

Un diamante de verdad.
Estrellita, ¿dónde estás?
Me pregunto qué serás.

meh pregunto keh sehras
En el see-yellow e en el mar
un diamante de verdad

Children's Song

(Literal Translation)

 Little star, where are you?
I wonder what you are.
In the sky and in the sea
A real diamond.
Little star, where are you?
I wonder what you are.
